Copyright for Realtors: How to Protect Yourself

I created a video to educate you on how copyright works in Real Estate.

PLEASE watch this and don't hesitate to ask questions or share this with your office.

I am not the copyright police and I am pretty easy on usage when it comes to the photos I take for you.  BUT you should understand how copyright works because other photographers don't take "stealing" images lightly!

What I cover in the Video

You are Realtor and you have hired a photographer to photograph your listing.
Do you own the images? Can you share the images?

If you're using other people's content, you may be committing real estate copyright infringement. How can you be sure you're not making a costly mistake?

Real estate professionals must be cognizant of copyright issues when it comes to listing content, most notably in connection with listing photographs. As original works of authorship, listing photographs are copyrighted, and the owner may dictate how the photos are used.

More Common Questions:

Can I use the amenities, aerials or other condo building images for my listing?

Can I use the neighborhood photos for my listing?

Can I use other photos I found on the internet?

Can I share the images with the home owners to advertise a property for rent?

Can I share the images with a stager, builder, contractor, interior designer or home owner?

Quick Answer...NO!

Let's make this simple so you understand copyright. Please watch my video.
